The adaptive value of collective behaviour in a multi-predator context
The extremophile sulphur mollies in southern Mexico have evolved a unique behaviour to cope with various avian predators: the collective repeat wave. This unique study system provides the perfect opportunity to test many long-standing paradigms of collective behaviour in the wild.

Group hunting in the open ocean
Many large open ocean predators hunt together with conspecifics. Drone technology makes these intriguing systems accessible and lets us explore mechanistic differences and similarities to terrestrial study systems.

Functional morphology of the billfish rostrum
The istiophorid (billfish) rostrum is a unique structure covered in thousands of micro-teeth. Their fine morphology lets us investigate its role during feeding and compare different species.
